¹⁷ “See, I will create
    new heavens and a new earth.^(A)
The former things will not be remembered,^(B)
    nor will they come to mind.
¹⁸ But be glad and rejoice^(C) forever
    in what I will create,
for I will create Jerusalem^(D) to be a delight
    and its people a joy.
¹⁹ I will rejoice^(E) over Jerusalem
    and take delight^(F) in my people;
the sound of weeping and of crying^(G)
    will be heard in it no more.

¹¹ On that day you, Jerusalem, will not be put to shame^(A)
    for all the wrongs you have done to me,^(B)
because I will remove from you
    your arrogant boasters.^(C)
Never again will you be haughty
    on my holy hill.^(D)
12 But I will leave within you
    the meek^(E) and humble.
The remnant of Israel
    will trust^(F) in the name of the Lord.
¹³ They^(G) will do no wrong;^(H)
    they will tell no lies.^(I)
A deceitful tongue
    will not be found in their mouths.^(J)
They will eat and lie down^(K)
    and no one will make them afraid.^(L)”

⁹ Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion!^(A)
    Shout,^(B) Daughter Jerusalem!
See, your king comes to you,^(C)
    righteous and victorious,^(D)
lowly and riding on a donkey,^(E)
    on a colt, the foal of a donkey.^(F)

¹⁰ I will take away the chariots from Ephraim
    and the warhorses from Jerusalem,
    and the battle bow will be broken.^(A)
He will proclaim peace^(B) to the nations.
    His rule will extend from sea to sea
    and from the River^[a] to the ends of the earth.^(C)
